Crash City
(Working Title)
Introduction:
Crash City is the thesis game I am currently working on.
Our current idea is to build a game where you manipulate the traffic by modifying the traffic signs.
Official Website:
Engine:
Unity 3D
Platform:
PC, Tablets and possible Nvidia Shield
Gameplay:
Player will manipulate the traffic by modifying the traffic signs and try to reach certain goals. The video on the side is our first prototype on this project. The player is required to place the right traffic sign at the right place to ensure the VIP car can reach its destination safely.
Since we are still iterating on this game, a lot of things are bounded to be changed, so stay tuned!
What did I do in this Project?
I am assigned to be the lead engineer in this project, I am responsible on the merging of different parts, work with engineers and other parties to make sure things come along nicely.
Besides that, I also worked on different systems including the sign placement system, the traffic system editor, and I also helped our technical artist on the pedestrian ragdoll system.
These videos shows my current progress on the traffic system editor.
As shown in the video, the level designers can build a level much faster with the help of this editor, which has all the components auto connected so they won't need to worry about messing with the programmers' work while building levels.
But the editor is still working in progress, there are quite a few things I need to change in the future, for examples, a better working pipeline to allow the user to create the level with less effort, supporting different terrains other flat grounds, etc.
