Eternal Dragon

Introduction:

Eternal Dragon is a game built for distraction. The goal is to distract the player while they are receiving medical treatments. So we set to mood to be soothing and relaxing. And the game can be played with mouse only or with eye tracking web-cam, so the player can stay still when playing so the medical treatment can go on without much difficulties.

Gameplay:

Player controls the Dragon flying around the temple, collecting the spirits floating around, the more spirit collected, the longer the dragon would grow.

 

What did I do in this Project?

In this project, I worked on the camera control, dragon’s motion and the game logics.

Since the main goal of this game is to provide a soothing and relaxing feeling, having a smooth motion for the dragon was quite important, what I did was having the body parts made up of separate pieces and make them follow their previous pieces, which would produce a fluid motion since the dragon head would move constantly in the scene.

I also made the dragon slightly move in a sine curve horizontally so the dragon would still have some motion even the game is idled.

Besides, I also implemented the dragon growth, the spirit consumption and different effects on consuming different color of spirits.

I did this entire project on Blueprint and with zero coding, this was an interesting and challenging experience.
